I was drawn into this book by the cover. After reading the story the cover really did not go with it. Let me give you a little bit of story background. Lady Merry Ellison’s father had tried to murder the king but failed. She is now an orphan or what others call the ghosts of Farthingale forest. She will do what it takes to protect the orphans. There is another character named Timothy Grey who is the son of a Baron. He is trying to find something legendary he can do to gain a title. When the orphans are spotted in Wyndeshire he thinks it is his chance.
This is when it got a little boring to me. It is written for the younger teen crowd though. I like a good historical romance but this one was not one of my favorites. There was a great story behind the romance but to me the romance kind of threw the book off. I thought it was going to be more of a Robin Hood story but was wrong.
I do think teens or young adults would enjoy the book. It did have its’ exciting and fun parts that younger people would enjoy.
