As a person who does not/ can't use sugar, I was very happy to try out Sweetleaf Organic Stevia. Stevia is a sweetener made from a plant called Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni. It has leaves that are thirty times sweeter than sugar. I was sent a few products to try out including the Stevia packets in the picture above. I use those in coffee and in baking.

I was also sent a few different flavors of sweet drops. Sweet drops are flavorings for water or other drinks. The pumpkin spice and peppermint mocha were really good in baking and in coffee or lattes. The berry, lemon drop, and Valencia orange perk up your water nicely. They were all tasty and I love that they are not unhealthy like other sweetener products on the market. I feel safe letting my daughter use these. I really like that this brand is organic because that makes me even happier. These products are great and I will be getting more when they run out.

Shake the Crave Review

I have reviewed another item from Trusted Health products and liked it a lot. This one was one I was very interested in. It is called Shake the Crave. It is a shake that comes in chocolate and vanilla.

I was sent a sample of each to try out. The shakes are supposed to keep you fuller longer. They can be used anytime of the day that you need them. I made them with water and drank them. I really liked the flavor and the way both of them tasted. There was no icky aftertaste and no gritty taste while drinking them. I used them as a mid afternoon snack because that is when I am hungry and should not be. They helped me out a lot and I wish I had more.

Confessions Friday 2/27

I do have a few confessions this week yay!

Confession #1:

I have kept my poor daughter stuck in the house all week. We have bad colds and there is lots of snow and it is cold here. I do not want her getting sicker so we have just stayed inside.

Confession #2:

I am a bad mom who uses Netflix as a babysitter. Since I have been sick this week I got behind on school. I am feeling better and catching up now. I have let my child sit in front of Netflix WAY TOO MUCH this week.

Confession #3:

That leads to my third confession. My daughter is getting too much screen time and not enough one on one time. It is hard for me to give her one on one time this week because we can't go outside and that's where she wants to be. I will be making it up to her next week.

Confession #4:

My poor 3 year old has to have dental work done next week. I feel horrible but it is not my fault. I guess she just has weak teeth. She has a few cavities on her back teeth. She will get laughing gas and be numbed for one of the teeth. The child does love to fight me when it comes to teeth brushing time but the dentist said we could brush all we want these would have still happened. I will update about this next week.

What confessions do you have this week?

I had no idea that February is national hot breakfast month until I was contacted by Krusteaz. I love breakfast but it's even better for dinner because it seems so much easier than a bigger meal. It takes less time to make and is fun for the kiddos too. I was sent some supplies to help me out with our breakfast night.

We did eat the chocolate chip muffins right away. They were fluffy and so yummy. Last night I made the Light & Fluffy Buttermilk pancakes. I used the squeeze bottle and got a little creative too.

I let my daughter help me out with the shapes and squeezing the bottle. It was fun to have her help out. We even topped out pancakes with a homemade strawberry sauce. It was easy to make too. Just put 2 tablespoons water, 2 packets of Stevia, and strawberries in a pan. When the strawberries are soft enough smash them with a fork or potato masher. Then just put on the pancakes. We really enjoyed the Krusteaz mixes and have actually used them before. The pancakes do come out light and fluffy and fill everyone up.

Tetley Green and Black Tea Review

At first I thought this was a box with two different teas in it. It is actually one kind of tea. It is a black tea with green tea in it. It is very refreshing and easy to make. You just boil some water and add your tea bag. Let it sit for about 5 minutes and then sweeten or enjoy as is.

This tea is very flavorful and actually does not need to be sweetened. It did not have an after taste and has become one of my favorites. You can learn more about it using the links below.

These wafers are covered in dark chocolate and are yummy. They go great with morning coffee or afternoon tea. You can dip them or eat just as they are. They have many layers and are very crunchy. They also come in milk chocolate. I do not usually like dark chocolate but on these wafers it was really good.

They really do look like the picture on the front of the box! I was impressed by that. Usually the item inside is not even close to the box cover. You can learn more about the company and products using the links below.

Peanut Hottie Review

This is one of the most unique things I have ever tried out. I like peanut butter but never knew I could be drinking it. Peanut Hottie is a drink mix flavored like (you guessed it) peanut butter. You add it to hot water like you would with tea or other hot drinks. You add as little or as much as you want depending on how much you like peanut butter. I couldn't get a good picture of the drink in my cup so I spared you a bad picture.

I thought this drink mix was really tasty and it only took a few spoonfuls to please me. It was very flavorful and really tasted like peanut butter. The company also offers a peanut butter and chocolate drink mix. I think that one sounds just as yummy. You can learn more about the company and its' products using the links below.

Pasta Avocado Dinner

COMMENTS

I love taking items in my pantry and making something yummy with them. I usually just mix things together. Today I am sharing a recipe for pasta with creamy avocado. It only has 4 ingredients in it and is sure to please the family.

All you need are:

  • Rotini of your choice. I used garden.
  • Black beans rinsed
  • Can or frozen kernel corn
  • 2 avocados

Rinse off your avocados and take the seed out. Scoop out the insides into a food processor. Add seasonings. I used basil, salt, and pepper. Run food processor until avocado is not chunky any more.

Cook beans in pan after rinsing them off. Cook pasta in 2 or 3 quart pan until cooked to your liking. After everything is cooked and seasoned you mix the black beans, corn, and pasta together. Add some lime juice to your avocado and stir it. I did not mix the avocado in with the rest.

I mixed the avocado in with each bowl I served. I also added shredded cheddar cheese. It was a fast and yummy dinner.

What would you add if this was your recipe? I am always looking for ways to make better food.

Dreaming of Love ‘The Bradens’ Book 11, Love in Bloom Series #19 by Melissa Foster Review/Giveaway

NEW RELEASE........
Book #11 The Bradens, Love in Bloom Series #19

Emily Braden is a leader in architectural preservation, a pillar in her small hometown, and successful in everything she does—with the exception of finding true love. She’s watched several of her brothers fall in love, and she needs this trip to Tuscany to get away from it all and to stop focusing on what she doesn’t have.

Dae Bray doesn’t do flings, and he never stays in one place for very long. As a demolitionist, he goes where jobs take him, and the more often he travels, the better. His trip to Tuscany is all work—until he meets smart and sexy Emily, who makes him reconsider his fear of settling down, his no-fling rule—and just about everything else he’s ever believed about himself.

Passion sizzles as Dae and Emily explore the history and beauty of Tuscany. Their romance moves beyond tourist attractions to the bedroom, blossoming into a deep connection neither can deny. But their worlds collide when Emily wants to preserve the property that Dae is there to demolish. Can a woman who sees the beauty in preservation and a man whose life is spent tearing things down find a solid foundation for their love?

THE BRADEN COUSINS are one of the newest additions to the LOVE IN BLOOM series.
**CONTENT WARNING: Due to mature content, recommended for readers aged 18+**

My Review:

I really enjoy reading about the Braden men but reading about Emily was so much fun. She is such a strong woman and know what she wants. I have dreamed of going on a vacation like she gets to go on. France is somewhere I will get to go to one day. Emily finding love there was so awesome. Who has not dreamed of building a relationship in Tuscany? I know I have. I thought Melissa Foster had covered my wildest imaginations with the stories on the beach but this one tops the beach for me. A foreign country is just more romantic and wild in my opinion. Emily and Dae have such an intense relationship that it keeps you drawn into the book. Just another great book by Melissa!

Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers Review/Giveaway

*Disclosure: I am a Tommy Nelson Mommy and was provided complimentary books to facilitate my review. These are my experiences and opinions yours may differ.*

I have read many of Max Lucado's books and loved this one as much as the rest. I really like that he and his wife (Denalyn) wrote it together. This book has great illustrations by Lisa Alderson. It is literally a book of bedtime prayers. Some have authors others are unknown. Each page has a beautiful illustration to go with it. Some prayers are just verses and have the verse written at the end.
I love to pray with my daughter before bed and this book makes that easy to do. I love that she can pick a page and we can pray together. We usually read a book and then pray before she gets tucked in for the night.
You can enter to win a copy of the book below and learn more about it at Lucado Treasury of Bedtime Prayers website.

I love to read to my daughter before bed and do not like reading the same thing over and over. Words to Dream on is a wonderful bedtime book to read. It starts out in the Old Testament and goes to the New Testament just like the Bible does. Bible stories are retold with prayers and bedtime blessings for your child. There are great illustrations to show your child what the story may have looked like. I really like that the book has a pretty blue built in book mark like some bibles do. It is easy to keep track of what story you left off on. This is a great addition to any library.

Duck Commanders Devotions for Kids Review/Giveway

My family loves the Robertson clan so when I saw this offered I really wanted it. This devotional was written by Korie Robertson and Chrys Howard with illustrations by Holli Conger. The book does not have to be read in order. I think that is great because my daughter tend to start in the middle of books. Each devotional has a cute illustration, a prayer, a bible verse, real stories from the Robertson's, and even a Duck Commander in action. The in action part is giving kids ways to act on what they have read or had read to them. It makes the reading fun and I think it will help kids to understand what they have read better. There are 221 pages in the book and each devotion takes up two pages. It is loaded with great lessons all kids should read.

We are loving this devotional and you can too. You can enter below to win your copy. You can also learn more about the book at Duck Commander Devotions website.

Send Me Gluten Free Subscription Box Review

Send Me Gluten Free is a monthly subscription box packed with all gluten free items. So many people I know have been diagnosed with issues where they can no longer eat gluten. They are having a hard time finding healthy and tasty foods to eat. I am not strictly gluten free but I really love to try new products and test gluten free brands out. My box had a lot of stuff in it!

There were 7 items total in my box and I have used them all. Sometimes I am sent a box and do not use all the items. Thankfully I got to try all of these out.

My favorite in the box would have to be the Birch Benders gluten free pancake/waffle mix. I made pancakes and will try waffles soon with it. It was very tasty and even my daughter loved them.

The next item I must have forgotten to take a picture of. It is the sore no more and it came right when I needed it. I have been having knee pains and I used the hot one on my knee. It worked way beyond what I expected. It made me knee feel awesome!

I was not a huge fan of Free For All Kitchens' brownie thins but only because they were too chocolaty for me. I like chocolate but not in huge doses. I know I am weird but I have always been this way. They were tasty and no icky after taste though.

These throat drops are great. I recently got sick and used all three of them. They really soothed my throat and taste great too. I am looking to buy more soon too.

I like the Nogii because it had chocolate and caramel in it. It was good and filling.

This bar was a little too chocolaty for me as well. It was good but just too much chocolate.

I have had these chips before and loved them. I was happy to see them in the box. They are crunchy and make great tasty snacks.

The last thing I got was an ocho bar in coconut flavor. I forgot to get a picture though. I had done a whole review on these and loved them.

NYC Metro Girl Soap Review

*Disclosure: I was provided complimentary samples in order to facilitate my review. These are my opinions and experiences and yours may differ. Post may contain affiliate links.*

NYC Metro Girl is a company that makes soaps and other beauty and bath products. Their products are handmade and come in a lot of varieties. I was sent some soap chips to try out and got a perfume sample as well.

I was sent lime soap chips to try. They are smaller pieces of soap but work just as well. The lime scent was refreshing and light. I like how long these have lasted me and am actually surprised they have lasted almost a month. They are a new product from the company and I am glad I was able to try them out. Each chip in the container will last at least 3 uses.

Next I was sent my newest favorite roll-on perfume. It is called Desire and smells flowery sweet. It is hard to explain but it is a scent I am liking a lot. I have used it a lot since I got it but not sure how long the bottle will last. The scent does last all day and I was excited about that since sometimes they wear off.
