Importance of Kids Getting Sleep

Toddlers and young kids need a lot of sleep but sometimes do not get the recommended amount. As a baby I would swaddle my daughter to make sure she slept well and was comfortable. As a toddler it is much harder to get her to bed and get her comfortable. That is where HALO SleepSack Big Kids comes in.

About HALO

HALO Innovations is dedicated to putting the health, safety and well-being of babies first. In fact, over 1,300 hospitals use HALO® SleepSack® wearable blankets through the HALO Safer Way to Sleep Initiative.  The HALO family of products, including HALO SleepSacks and SleepSack Swaddles, SwaddeSure and the best-selling HALO BassinestTM Swivel Sleeper, help children from newborn to toddler age sleep better and safer.

The big kids SleepSack is worn over their jammies and keeps them feeling secure at night. Most children need around 10-11 hours of sleep a night and being comfortable will help them get that needed sleep. My daughter is a night owl but it is said that kids should have a bed time of around 7-8pm. Consistency really counts when it comes to bed time with kids. They like to have a routine to help them feel safe and secure. If you have problems getting your child to sleep you can use the following tips from The Sleep Lady.

  • Put your child to bed drowsy but awake still. Stay with them to reassure them until they are asleep.
  • Watch for their sleep window- natural moment when they will want to fall asleep. If you miss it they will be overly tired and wired up. I have been here and it is not fun!
  • You can install room darkening shades to help them know it is bed time. A white noise machine or fan may help as well.

The HALO Big Kids SleepSack comes in micro-fleece or lightweight knit. There are different colors and designs as well. My daughter got the pink one with a cute little cupcake on it. She loves it! It is a little big on her but a size down would have been too small. She is comfy at night and sleeps well when she is in her SleepSack. She loves when she has something special like this and it helps me to get her to bed easier. You can learn more about the product and connect with the company using the links below.

  1. We own one of these that we still use. Actually I think it's that same one Christine is wearing. We've always loved Halo products.

  3. I have not used the big girls one. I have used the smaller baby ones but will have to check what brands they are. How old is your daughter? Your Home Matters linky co-host partner!
