Vanilla Snow Cream

We have gotten a lot of snow lately. Actually this is the snowiest February in history for Colorado. We broke a record that was over 100 years old! How crazy is that? We decided we would make use of some of the clean snow on our patio. We made some snow cream.

All you need to make it is some milk, snow, bowls, sweetener or sugar, and a helper. We used vanilla flavored soy milk because that is what we have in the house. My daughter helped me gather the snow and stirred her up.

All you have to do is get the snow, mix it with desired amount of milk and sweetener and enjoy. It is a fun way to play with snow when you can't go out in it.

Have you tried snow cream before?

  1. Just whatever you do... don't use the yellow snow. LOL I had to add that in. We have been getting a lot of snow too in Pennsylvania. I guess if we are going to have such crummy weather, we might as well enjoy it.

    1. Exactly! Here we have to also check far away from roads because of salt and chemicals!

  2. LOL Terry I just had to laugh at your yellow snow comment. I have quite a LOT of snow in my backyard that is untouched. I just might do this with Madison today although she hates going outside in the snow. She's not a snow child at all even though she's a winter baby.

  3. Love this! My daughter always wants me to put snow in a cup, so she can eat it! What a great idea!

  4. Well, if it doesn't melt, this is the perfect way to try to get rid of some of it. Looks tasty!

  5. I have never made snow cream--and by now the snow around here is mostly BLACK from car exhaust-YUCK. I could definitely see myself making and liking it if there was any pure clean snow around!

  6. My mom did something similar to this when we used to live in North Carolina. It was so yummy and such a fun activity.

  8. I love making homemade snow ice cream. My favorite is to use pure maple syrup. When it freezes as it touches the snow it makes this wonderful caramel type taste. So good.
