Valentine's Day Cookies

We made a little treat for Valentine's Day. I made some cutout cookies and made hearts out of them. My daughter did help but it got so messy I did not get pics of the process. I found a great recipe for sugar cookies that did not require the dough to chill.

Recipe:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup granulated sugar (I use Truvia)
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups all-purpose flour

Preheat oven to 375° F. In a large bowl cream the sugar and butter with electric mixer. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add the baking powder and flour one cup at a time. Mix after each addition of flour. Do not chill dough! Divide it in half and then roll out to 1/8 in thickness. You can then cut out the cookies and re roll dough as needed. Bake cookies on ungreased cookie sheet on middle rack for 8-12 minutes or until lightly browned. Let them cool and then frost or decorate as desired.

I had some pink frosting and outlined our cookies. They were yummy.
Are you making Valentine's Day treats? What are you baking up?
