Ocho is a candy company that makes chocolate bars.
(Excerpt from their website:)
- We believe in the candy bar – candy bars should be fun and delicious.
I was sent a variety of bars to try out and decided to make a Valentine's Day treat with them.
I was sent a box with caramel & peanut, coconut, dark coffee, peanut butter, and mocha bars. I used peanut butter, coconut, and caramel & peanut bars in my recipe.
I melted all of the bars in the microwave for about 30 seconds and then mixed them in with a cake mix. I used the Pillsbury Valentine's whoopie pie kit. I only used the cake mix out of the box and followed the directions. I mixed the bard in after melted with my electric mixer. Then I baked the cake according to the box directions. I was going to make a from scratch vanilla mix but decided the chocolate would be better with the bars.
Thankfully I had a neighbor with a heart shaped pan. The pan was not very deep (another reason we used the box mix) so it was almost like making brownies. After the cake was cooked and cooled we used some pink frosting and the sprinkles from the box on it.
