Gift for Everyone

Time was when Marie Cavanaugh spent hours in her South Dakota farmhouse each Christmas season making pecan rolls and homemade chocolates for holiday gifting.

"It started when my aunt sent her pecan-rolls recipe," Mrs. Cavanaugh recalled. "I gave the recipe my own touch and started making the yummy specialties. Then I began dipping chocolates. Our friends and neighbors loved these treats, encouraging me to start a candy business. Finally, I decided it might be a good idea.'"

Her husband George and children Carla, Lorraine, Calvin, Colene and Genise rallied, helping Mrs. Cavanaugh fill demands for her homemade sweets.

...In 1972, the family moved to Utah, leaving good friends and their beloved cattle ranch.

"It was a difficult decision, especially for George," Mrs. Cavanaugh said. "He was excited about making our new venture, which we chose to call Mrs. Cavanaugh's Candies, a great success. We felt Utah was blessed with good chocolates and that we would enjoy - and could compete with - those who pride themselves on making excellent chocolates."

Millions of pounds of chocolates later, Mrs. Cavanaugh's candies have earned a reputation for unquestionable excellence....
Ask chocolate aficionados. They will direct those seeking the best chocolates to the popular Mrs. Cavanaugh's Candies.

My Review:

I was sent a nice yummy collection of chocolates. At first I did not want to share (who wants to share their chocolate?) but I did. I love anything with caramel so those were my favorites. I really like the sampler box though because I like the element of surprise (I don't look at the guide until I take a bite).

I did share a few of the bars with an awesome neighbor who deserved them. The rest my family enjoyed and we really liked them. This was some of the best chocolate we have had in a long time. It was smooth and so yummy.
These chocolates would make a good gift for any chocolate lover you know. The best part is that right now you can get a deal:

The Crispery Crispycakes Review (Gift Guide)

Gift For Everyone

I absolutely love anything that is made with marshmallows (ok almost anything). I was very happy when I found The Crispery company and was sent some samples of their Crispycakes. I was sent a variety box of four. The Crispery makes gooey, sweet, delectable treats (right from their website) and has been doing so since 1995. The crispycakes are even handmade! They are sold all across the country and using the links at the end of my post you can find them near you.

I really like the packaging of the box and of the cakes themselves. It looked like it took time and someone put thought into packaging the cakes. It had a personal feel and look to it which made it awesome.

Now on to the drool worthy pictures. I opened the box and was so excited about what I saw. I know you are drooling just looking at those crispycakes too. A few of these were eaten before I could even get a better picture so I apologize now.

The first one is called drizzled mini marshmallow. This was my favorite because it had mini marshmallows on top of the already yummy, marshmallowy (not even a word), sticky cake.

Next are the chocolate candy buttons one (a neighbor girl ate before I could get more pics) and the cocoa concoction one (eaten fast too). I am showing side pics of the ones I could get to show you what was in the middle. The cocoa concoction one has a stripe of cocoa in middle (yummy!).

Last but definitely not least is the cookies and cream crispycake. It was so good! It had a chocolate cookie on top and then a stripe of chocolate cookie in the middle.

All of these cakes were delicious and anyone that likes sweets would love them. The Crispery has holiday cakes out right now as well. They would make the perfect gift for that hard to buy for person. You can connect to the company below:

They do have discount codes floating around today so do check their social media pages and get yours ordered for the holidays!

About the Book:

Every day, one of Amy Julie Becker’s children says something that prompts her to think about life in a new way. “Mom, does Santa love me?” William asks, after his mother explains the meaning of Christmas…In a chat with her dad about the children who died in the Sandy Hook shootings, Penny asks, “Did they go to heaven?” …”You was a jerk, Mommy?” asks Marilee one morning in the car.
These conversations deepen Amy Julia’s relationships with her children, but they also refine her understanding of what she believes and what God is doing in her own life.
In Small Talk, Amy Julia draws from the wisdom and curiosity of those young voices to reflect on beauty and kindness, tragedy and disability, prayer and miracles. As she moves through the basic questions her kids posed when they were very young to the more intellectual questions of later childhood, she invites us to learn from our own day-to-day conversations with the children in our lives.
This eloquent parenting memoir is about the big questions little hearts ask, the thoughts their words provoke, and the laughter and soul-searching their honesty brings—to adult and child alike.

About the author:

Amy Julia Becker writes about faith, family, and disability for Parents.com, the New York Times Motherlode blog, TheAtlantic.com, The Huffington Post parents page, Christianity Today, The Christian century, and numerous other publications. Her first book, A Good and Perfect Gift: Faith, Expectations, and a Little Girl Named Penny, was named one of the Top Ten Religion Books of 2011 by Publishers Weekly. Amy Julia lives in western Connecticut with her husband and three children.

My Review:

This book was great! It made me think of the times my daughter has changed the way I look at something. She has made me think about things I did not think I would be even thinking about. Reading Amy's experience was fun because I totally relate to it. It is a great book that all moms need to read! Check the book out at the links above. You can also enter to win a copy below. Pomchies Review (Gift Guide)

Gift For Her

I have to admit these are the most unique accessories I have seen. You are probably wondering what in the heck they are. The name itself is very intriguing. Pomchies makes hair accessories, wine glass charms, bracelets, key keepers, and even Pom ID's. That is a lot of stuff and wait until you see how cute it is!

I was sent a variety of items and will introduce you to the Pom Blossom first. This little hair accessory is so cute!

I love how it looked in my daughter's hair. She was being stubborn and did not want a picture taken. The Pom Blossom would be great if you were dressing up but can also be worn daily.

Next up are the Pom Braids. I was sent a single and double.

These are headbands and I could not get a good picture of them on. The best part is that they can be worn by children or adults. I love the color selection I was sent!

Next up is the Pom Bow.

I have to say this is one of my favorite just because of the color. Purple is my favorite color! My daughter did wear this to church but again no picture. The rest of the items I was unable to get in action. This bow is an everyday item as well.

Next up is the Team Twist Bracelet.

This one is a simple but cute bracelet that could be unisex. I thought that was pretty neat.

Last but not least we have the Pomchies themselves. These can be used as hair ties, tied to a bad, or even used to wear around the wrist. These remind me of cheerleaders and they would be perfect for them.

All of the products come in a variety of different and fun colors and patterns. I really love these and think any lady or little girl would love them as a gift. They are sized to fit in stockings as well. Who doesn't want something this fun?

Gift For Her

The first company in my gift guide is Sashka CO. Sashka makes glass bead bracelets. The awseome part (and part I did not even realize until I got sample) is that these bracelets are hand made by artisans in Nepal. I think it is great that they are fair trade!

I was sent two very pretty bracelets and I love them. I will be gifting one and keeping the other.

As you can see from the pictures these bracelets really are pretty. They actually look good stacked too. I am a plus sized woman and had no issue with them fitting either. The just slide on and come right off. I am really in love with them but I think the yellow, blue, and white one will make a great gift for a family member. I will be sticking it in her stocking.

That is another plus to these. They come in a box that can be wrapped up and stuck in a stocking or under a tree. They would make great gifts and you will be empowering women at the same time. You can go get your orders in below and also connect with them on social media.

This cute book is a weekly devotional with 52 weeks in it. It is written for ages 4 to 8. Each week focuses on a certain bible verse and breaks it down into the when, who, and the what. The purpose is to help your child to memorize bible verses and use them in daily life. This is so awesome! As an adult I have a hard time memorizing things but the way the book is written even I can remember the verses. This would be a great book to use as a family with your children in a weekly family bible study. Each week even includes a prayer to pray with your child. The book is illustrated very well too. Cute pictures that keep your child's mind on the verse of the week.

Devotions For Beginning Readers Book Review/Giveaway

*Disclosure: I am a Tommy Nelson Mommy and was provided complimentary books to facilitate my review. These are my experiences and opinions yours may differ.*

My daughter and I usually do a devotion of some kind in the afternoon. It is really hard to keep her attention when I do not have a devotion book geared towards kids. This one is awesome because it is written for children ages 4 to 8. My child is not 4 yet but she really likes the pictures in the book. I really like the idea that the book introduces a word each day. The devotion is written using that word and teaching the meaning of it. There is always a scripture at the top of each devotion. The book does not necessarily need to be read in order. I like that because my daughter likes to skip and start in the middle. The print in the book is big enough for a child to read on their own as well. This is awesome because I can do an adult devotion and when my child can read she can do her own at the same time. Of course I would be there fr any questions that arose.

This book is great to have in your home for your children. You can learn more about it at Devotions for beginning readers online. You can also enter to win your own copy below. Good luck!

About The Book:

Is technology bringing your family closer together or driving you farther apart?

Children today are no longer playing hide-and-seek outside or curling up with a good book—instead they’ve been introduced to a world of constant digital entertainment through television, video games, and mobile devices. And while technology has the potential to add value to our lives and families, it can also erode a sense of togetherness and hinder a child’s emotional and social development.

In Growing Up Social, Gary Chapman and Arlene Pellicane will empower you with the necessary tools to make positive changes…starting today. Through stories, wit, and wisdom, you’ll discover how to take back your home from an over dependence on screens. Plus, you’ll learn to teach the five A+ skills that every healthy child needs to master: affection, appreciation, anger management, apology, and attention.

•Equip your child to be relationally rich in a digital world
•Replace mindless screen time with meaningful family time
•Establish simple boundaries that make a huge difference
•Discover what’s working for families that have become screen savvy
•Learn healthy ways to occupy your child while you get things done

Now is the time to equip your child to live with screen time, not for screen time. No phone, tablet, or gaming device can teach your child how to have healthy relationships—only you can.

My Review:

I am going to admit that this book opened my eyes to a lot. I never realized how much screen time my daughter was getting! Now that I realize it she is a little mad at me. I have cut her back a lot. She was used to having her tablet and watching television at the same time. This is no longer allowed. The tablet is put up and television is limited. I do notice that when we go out my husband likes to be playing poker on his phone and not focusing on family time. This is something that we will have a conversation about but I am not sure how to approach that one yet. This book has changed how I see things and I have even cut back on my screen time. This is a must read for parents everywhere. You can enter below to win your own copy. Good luck!!

I have watched this movie at least six times since I received it! My daughter is in love with it and I am sure we will watch it even after Christmas is over. It is a fun little movie filled with big truths. There are puppets that teach your child all about Christmas in a fun way that they will enjoy. I am not sure my daughter has gotten much out of it because she is young but she sure loves it. It is a great movie to watch with the family.
